Finca Craig is a large traditional Spanish farmhouse with a modern interior, located on the edge of the village of Rotova in the Valencia region of Spain. The house and private gardens enjoy great views over Rotova, the orange groves and the mountains beyond. The front door leads onto a characterful courtyard which borders the farmhouse's cassita, probably one of the oldest stone buildings in the area. The courtyard has a brick barbeque and the large dining table where you will enjoy your alfresco dining. You can also gate off the courtyard should you desire a secure area to keep young children away from the pool at any time. The courtyard opens onto the mature garden including orange, lemon, olive, pine and palm trees. The garden and all outside areas offer complete privacy. The private pool is now heated which allows it to be enjoyed all year round. Off street gated parking is available for four cars.
Downstairs the modern interior houses the lounge/diner, kitchen, utility room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Upstairs has a further three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is British satellite TV, Spanish TV and broadband with WiFi.
Our location offers you a taste of the real Spain without being isolated. You can easily have a fantastic holiday without leaving Rotova and the local bus can take you into Gandia where you can catch fast trains onto Valencia, Barcelona or Madrid. But a hire car undoubtedly opens up further options. There are so many magnificent beaches all down this stretch of coast from secluded to family orientated with bars and lots to do. You can also hire every type of watersport equipment. There are many coastal and mountain villages waiting to be explored and the amenities of Gandia are so close and just 30 minutes takes you to cosmopolitan Denia. Of course if you desire some madness then Benidorm is just a 45 minute drive away, and for clubbers, the ferries to Ibiza are available daily from Gandia or Denia.
Very few locals speak English but they are all very friendly and willing to help. And not yet being a mass tourism location has many advantages, not least the cheap prices in the bars and restaurants!
So why holiday with us? Well we offer superbly maintained, spacious accommodation for 11 adults with a private pool nestled in a mature Mediterranean garden with total privacy. The village has everything you could need a short stroll away, so once here a car is not essential. And this is the real Spain, in a great location, with refreshingly reasonable prices for eating and drinking out. With so many first class beaches on your doorstep, not to mention masses of options for great days out and easy access via Valencia or Alicante airports, then we believe a holiday among our orange groves is just what you need for an unforgettable holiday!

Summary: We had a wonderful family holiday at Finca Craig. One week towards the end of October 2024. 6 adults and children aged 7 and 4 years old and an infant 5 months. The house has great accommodation with a very well equipped kitchen. With the mixed ages having 2 bedrooms downstairs and 3 upstairs was ideal. Also a good sized heated swimming pool was perfect in the changeable weather. Lovely views over the village of Rotova to the hills. Short walk to the village which was very friendly but not touristy. Nearest town, Gandia, has a fantastic beach with free parking nearby. Many thanks to Menno and David who welcomed us on arrival, dealt with any queries very promptly and were excellent hosts. Summary: We have just returned from a fantastic two week holiday at Finca Craig. The Finca was really spacious for our party of 7 (5 adults and 2 children). The pool is amazing to chill out in (and cool off in!). There are plenty of sunloungers, parasols and chairs around the pool so there is always a shady spot to relax in if needed. We loved eating meals at the huge table under the gazebo and made use of the barbecue. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything needed. Our stay was during the heat wave and one day the temperature reached 45 degrees - we were so thankful for the air con in the upstairs bedrooms at night! We didn't hire a car but as you can walk into the centre of Rotova in 5 -10 mins, that wasn't an issue for us. We were able to get everything we needed for our stay. There are 2 small supermarkets, a pharmacy, a bank, 2 bars/restaurants (and the social centre which serves drinks) and a wonderful bakery pretty much on the doorstep. You can also get drinks/pizzas at the sports centre and there is a pizza takaway in the town open weekend evenings. We walked to Alfauir one morning which also has a small supermarket and a couple of bars. We were lucky that our stay coincided with the Moors & Christians fiesta on the first weekend in August which was a real special experience. Colin and Karen were thoughtful and helpful hosts. They respected our privacy but were also available to help eg. when booking a taxi to Gandia beach or making a dinner reservation.

Summary: Great garden and pool, very well looked after. Pleasant and very helpful hosts who helped us with things like finding a pharmacy and booking a local restaurant. The house was very comfortable. We found the area had many places to visit, not only the long sandy beaches. Would definitely recommend it.

Summary: We were eight people of all ages who visited for about a week in July, and we had a great time. A wonderful villa with a garden and pool that feels like a small refreshing oasis. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Easy to communicate with when we had questions (directions, tips etc) -- answered quickly, no problems whatsoever. We really appreciated the welcome basket with wine, cheese and bread. Wifi-connection worked well, very easy to log on to. Every room had air condition and ceiling fans which really helped during the warm nights. The house is essentially fitted with everything you need, there is a dishwasher, microwave, gas stove and oven, washing machine, coffee maker, beach towels and more. Having access to a car is essential, since Rotova is a smaller village with just a few small stores. If you want to go to the ocean or go grocery shopping you really need a car. The city of Gandia is about a 15 minute drive away, they have everything you need there, plus a fantastic beach. We went to the beach twice, which was great, but just hanging by ourselves by the pool, in the wonderful garden was probably the best part of our trip. It's all very private, no disturbances, just a great place for the whole family. Highly recommended!

Summary: The house and the garden are beautiful, we had a lovely time at Colins house :) We loved the pool, which is very clean and there is enough space for everyone to relax next to it. We drove to a beach about 25 min away from the house which was recommended to us due to lots of shops and restaurants nearby (we travelled with 5 kids). Everywhere we ate out, the food was super delicious. We highly recommend the restaurant L'Almassera which is a 5 min ride away. The food and service were exceptionell. We enjoyed our stay very much! Colin lives next door and was always available if we had any questions. (The only thing that caught us by surprise was the number of really aggressive mosquitos. We recommend to bring a strong repellent to the house and apply it regularly ;))

Summary: Great base to explore from. Markets, boat trips, train ride to Valencia with cycling down to the stunning Arts & Sciences Centre. History, shopping & tapas in Gandia enjoyed by all. Property has everything you need including lots of space for all to relax. Pool is refreshing at the end of a busy or lazy day. Hosts were discretely available & responsive whenever needed. A superb holiday!
